Charity Walk raises money for young monks

Over forty friends joined us for a charity walk and lunch to raise money for the young monks at the monastry in Meritsomo. The five mile walk ended with a pub lunch, charity raffle and a chance for heart felt video message of thanks from monk.

In Bhutan, religious orders often provide education and shelter to young children from poor families unable to care for them or orphaned at a young age. The monastry provides a home to 15 young boys under the age of 20 in extremely poor conditions.

The event was organised by Ima and raised over £300 which will go towards providing new bedding and cooking facilities.
