Whitstable Castle auction raises over £1500

Last nights event at Whitstable Castle raised over £1500 for the children of Meritismo thanks to the efforts of Adrienne Shaw, Lucy Clarke, Sandra, Michelle, Cora and Ania. Local supporters paid £38 a head for diner, drinks and a chance to hear Ani Pema Deki speak.

The event ended with an auction of lots donated from local businesses including Canterbury Wholefood, the High Tide Tattoo Parlour and local artist Trevor Hartley. At the event the charity was presented with a small donation from Lay Buddhist organisation Rissho Kosei-kai of the United Kingdom.

The money donated will help provide new facilities for the school at Meritismo following Emma's recent trip in October
